Banana Split Cake

1st Layer:

1 c. crushed vanilla wafers, and 1 stick very soft butter

Mix together and press into 9 x 15 glass dish or baking pan to form solid bottom crust.

 

2nd Layer: 

2 sticks soft butter, 2 unbeaten egg whites, and 1 box powder sugar.

Mix together, spread over first layer. Spreads easier with wet finger tips.

 

3rd Layer: 

1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple (well drained).

Spread over second layer.

 

4th Layer: 

3-4 bananas - sliced, and lemon juice OR fruit fresh.

Sprinkle/coat bananas with lemon juice or fruit fresh to prevent discoloration. Arrange over pineapple.

 

5th Layer:

1 large container of whipped dairy topping.

Spread over bananas evenly

 

6th Layer:

Chopped nuts - 1/2 c. at least, and Maraschino cherries - quartered.

Sprinkle these over whipped topping. Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to blend. Cut into squares.
