Kathy's Trail Mixture

This is a nice treat to take on a hike. I like to make up some of this to take along on ours - especially if our daughter who has low blood sugar is going.

5 c. brown sugar

2 c. coconut 

3 c. whole wheat flour 

1 c. cashews (raw) 

2 c. sunflower seeds (shelled) 

1 c. raisins 

1/2 c. brown sugar 

1/4 c. honey 

1/2 c. dates (chopped up) 

1/2 c. walnuts (raw) 

1/2 c. pecans (raw) 

3/4 c. water 

1/4 c. oil 

Mix all together. Bake 45-60 minutes at 250°F in oven. Should be 1/2 inch or thicker on sheet to prevent burning. Check and stir often. Cool and store in baggies. Other nuts or dried fruits (such as banana chips) can be added if desired.
