1/2 c. mashed potatoes
1 yeast cake dissolved in 1/2 c warm water
1/2 t. soda
2 c. scalded
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
potatoes, shortening, and sugar. Add scalded milk, cool until lukewarm. Add yeast & water, dry ingredients, & beat
throughly. Add enough more flour to make soft dough. Knead throughly. Grease top of dough, cover, place in refrigerator overnight.
Can keep for a week, use as needed.
To cook - you can deep fat fry dough until golden brown.
